The best mouse in the world is arguably the Logitech MX1000 which is wireless and super l33t. I have the MX700 and wouldn't touch a corded mouse now :D Look out for the MX510 which is also a superb mouse albeit wired, but still fairly good. I think that Patchou has his reasons for removing the 'Hide the ad banner' feature. Microsoft do include ads for a reason, to help pay for the free service they provide.
