RE: server specs
External for a file server? I suggest you think again, although I've been wrong before. Personally for a web server I'd be using Linux, no question about it (I have experience with Gentoo & Ubuntu). For a file server you can still use Linux to get ...

RE: laptop batteries
If you remove the battery you have to be careful to not unplug the pc, because essentially your using it like a desktop and you may loose/corrupt data if the power cord is yanked and the pc shuts down improperly.

I think it may be time to bite the bullet and buy a new router.

RE: Difference between MBPS and speedtest.net speed
Sorry, but I'm not sure where anything here would explain why your computer crashes when using an 11mpbs card. If your pc is crashing my guess is the card is defective/damaged or the drivers aren't working properly.

RE: Difference between MBPS and speedtest.net speed
If your not connected to a network, you wont see the numbers 11 or 54, because you wouldn't be using wireless (your connection would be disconnected). I'm not quite sure where that question comes from. (1pc, a wireless router, and an internet conn...

RE: [HELP!] Greater Torontonians: Hi-Speed Internet
Roger's high speed lite, or ultra lite, depending on budget should do fine then, and depending on how intense that somewhat more often internet usage is. Bell's Basic or Basic lite shouldn't be a bad choice either. I have no real bias towards eith...

RE: Prevent Contacts from Stealing DP
So instead, you would like someone else to take the time to write you a script to protect your display pic so you don't have to get off your metaphorical/digital bum and get a new one? Nice guy. :chrongue:

RE: Change IP Adress from Wireless laptop?
I have a feeling rapidshare would be tracking your external ip, so changing the ip of only your laptop would be useless. You would really need to change your external ip. (The ip address of you entire network)

RE: [Updated..] Are These Programes Safe?
They say spyware free because they are claiming that the program itself is spyware free. It is however possible that the files you are downloading are malware or infected with a virus. And the reason they classify limewire as asware there is because...

RE: Xbox 360 / PC Speakers
I don't think its possible. Xbox 360 was/is designed to work with the optical out for the surrount sound, and unless you use something with a digital decoder, (say, your medium range a/v receiver for a home theater) then I don't think there is any ...

RE: What's Your Favorite Script

RE: Will Linux work on a Mac?
Ah, it's a good thing that money is going to a good cause, since that machine seems a bit on the shoddy side. According to the OSX recommendations that Chris posted, no, it won't run OSX properly with that amount of ram. You'd probably be able to ...
