Anyway...
If it's not possible to make Cookie's idea, because of don't remembering the secret answer and other problems, how about making a new account?
Maybe it's easyer than trying to find a such program...
;)

yeah, exept i have important emails there, all my contacts, etc.

and i know that the information is stored somewhere in my old laptop i only need to find out how to located it. and i am sure there is.

fyi, hacking is illigally trying to obtain information which your are not ment to. and that is not what i want. you can compare it to software used for burning. not everyone who has this software uses it to make illigal copies of copyrighted material.

so no, it is not illegal to use software like that for restoring your own password from your own computer. (i do not intend to sound cocky, but i am a law student, so i know this for a fact.)

True, it's not illegal, but it can be abused to steal passwords. It's potentially a dangerous hacking tool, and therefore we don't want it posted here.

Nobody is saying that you have any bad intentions, but that doesn't matter.

just to clarify: it is NOT a hacking tool - however it could illegaly be used as one. burning software is NOT pirate software - but could be used to harm copyright. a kithen knife i NOT a murder weapon (but a kitchen utensil) - but could illegally be used as one by criminals.

hope the point is clear now.

Yeah, that's what I said. It has the potential to be used as a hacking tool.

I understand your point, but I believe that in this case, the potential malicious uses of a password recovery tool outweigh the potential legitimate uses.

summermuggy,

I strongly suspect you could have found what you are looking for using Google, in half the time you've wasted here.

Take that into consideration.  :)

Just what I thought in fact.

fyi, a report can be many things from requests to move a thread, request to delete a signature because it is too big, ban a user, what the recipe for banana milkshake is (well not that one), to a request to close a thread. And as a matter of fact, what you saw was nothing more than the result of me reporting this thread for closure, which moderators can confirm.

It had nothing todo with someone reporting me.

Actually not... because if we would believe in the good of all people, there would indeed be no harm in posting links to such tools which could easly be abused and used more often for bad things than for good things. It is exactly because we believe not all people are good and will use such tools for good stuff that such tools will not be given in a public thread.

And to still being able to help people like you, there is a service like the one I mentionned of which there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to use it.

well, i tried google but didnt find anything useful. only the nirsoft program which i cannot use on my work laptop since the antivir software thinks its a virus. and i dont have the autority to disable the antivor software.

so hopefully there is another way for me to get to the auto-saved login information.. :|
