RE: Can't save chat logs.
You can try if it helps if you turn off chat logging (Plus! > Preferences & Options > Logs > Chat Logging) by removing the checkmark in front of "Enable chat logging on disk." Next exit Windows Live Messenger (and preferably reboot) then restart Windows Live Messenger and enable chat logging again.
If that doesn't work, option 2 is to repair Messenger Plus! via Programs and Features. To do that you select Messenger Plus! from the list of software and click uninstall/change, you will then be prompted what you want to do Repair Messenger/Remove Sponsor/Remove All. Choose "Repair Messenger"
There is also an option 3, in case option 2 does not work either, which is the most drastic one: uninstall Messenger Plus including all preferences (Remove All), scripts etc. then reinstall. Important here is that you do not import an earlier saved preferences file, nor skins or plugins.
Of course in all case you must make sure that your computer has the latest updates and service packs. Which leads me to asking which operating system are you using (XP, Vista, Windows 7...) and whether or not you have admin privileges on your account.
To be complete please also list your Windows Live Messenger version (full build number: Help > About Messenger) and the full build number of the Messenger Plus! version you have installed ( Plus! > About Messenger Plus!).
