If you want to know a weird law: chewing gum is banned in Singapore.
I believe xJ + can confirm this.
Yeah.
There is one more weird law now: all teenages (below the age of 16) have to be home by 2300hours. If seen by policmen in a group, they will stop those teens and will report to those teens' parents. If seen being alone, the (lazy) policemen will ignore. -.-
When it was first implemented: All teenages regardless in a group out at night (2300hours to be exact), will be stopped by policmen and will be reported to their parents. -.-

They did that because people put gum in between the doors of the subway system

i thought they did that so people don't spit it on the ground?
Something like that. There were more reasons behind the banning of chewing gum.
Now the government allows import of Nicorette chewing gum that helps reduce smokers from smoking and some other kind of chewing gums, not sure which.. Whatever, banning of chewing gums is the past though. When chewing gums were totally banned, you could still see us, Singaporeans, chewing chewing gums practically everyday, we don't really care; we just have to be very careful not to get caught.
