The only way I found is to replace picture msgres_4000_1786.png by a transparent one.

UPDATE: the skin is giving me a skin trace... and the look is not even the same you have there in your post... I have updated the script too and now the if you click any of the options in the menu at doesn't happen anything...

Gives me a skin trace too. Messenger didn't even open with it enabled

Looks like he hasn't actually changed the skin to include the new extracted resource files and has just changed the version tag or something
