When I clear my cache, it can take up to 15 seconds before all the images on the page are loaded. After that, they are in my cache and the page loads in a few seconds (Mozilla).
This is just once, and I don't see a problem waiting once in a while
I'm on AMD Athlon 2000+ with 256 MB RAM and a 1 mbps connection.
