The best mouse in the world is arguably the Logitech MX1000 which is wireless and super l33t. I have the MX700 and wouldn't touch a corded mouse now
Look out for the MX510 which is also a superb mouse albeit wired, but still fairly good. I think there is a model that is superceding it, so you might be able to find one reasonably cheap
