RE: Graphics Programs, what are you using?
Um, I use Photoshop CS2, Bryce 5 (occassionally), Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Flash, The Gimp (occassionally) and Paint (occassionally). All of these are very good programs, so long as you take the time to learn them. It's all well and good saying Paint is terrible, but it can actually be incredibly good for simple tasks. I find most programs terrible for the simple cropping of images, takes to long to load, but Paint loads quickly and easily, and it takes up less time to do anything.
It really depends what your main purpose is for using a graphics program for... If it's simple things, I suggest Paint, or maybe The Gimp for such things. If you want to go into more detailed and harder work, use Photoshop or Fireworks, but there is no guarantee that you will be able to make amazing things as soon as you have installed it. It's not the program, it's the way the user uses and interprets the program.
