Hmmm sounds strange..
Things he could try:
- CMOS Clear.. As said by DragonX
- Remove ALLLLL!!! hardware except: CPU, RAM, Mainboard and VIDEO... then boot and see what happens..
If removing hardware works, try adding a component a time, boot up and test... And if it doesn't work at one point, you could know tha cause
Pulling the plug out, hmm doesn't cause damage, it really shouldn't cause damage...
Maybe he "fried" his Power Supply..
If so, he'd better buy a GOOD PSU, not a 3rd party or strange brand...
