RE: HD repairable??
I recently saw a site in which a guy bought a cheap drive off E-Bay, took out the actual disk surface, and put the surface from his bad drive into the good one. Claims he was able to recover most of the data, save for some bad sectors.
Don't have a link though. I would say that it CAN be done, but at great expense of time
