Note for those interested: recovering data on burnt hard drivers is fairly easy when you'be got the right tools. I personally use R-Studio and it saved my life on more than one occasion.. the only thing you need is a lot of time and a second hard drive where your files will be copied. Last time I used it, it even successfully recovered 100% of the file of my RAID 0 partition after one of the disks died .
