The problem in some patches is that they remove too much things. Instead of hiding things they actually remove controls. And it are those controls which are needed by other addons for their functions or used as base points to put some extra button and stuff in the GUI.

So, in some cases it is the fault of the developpers of those patches. In the past A-patch and messpatch (iirc) suffered from this too. Now they hide certain things, instead of completely removing it from the UIFile.
