I think Maxtor are really good choices I have never had one, but all 50 computer in every lab had Maxtor HD installed and they worked just fine.
Other thing, if what u're looking for is performance, definitely go for SATA, which are real new and way faster, but first make sure u're motherboard supports it, if it doesn't u may wanna consider upgrading since hard drives are been remodeled to include USB as cache memories, so SATA it's going to be everywhere.
