IMO it should be increased a bit. Do I care? No. Why do I want it changed? The only reason its there imo is for statistics. I like my stats. This is just one more stat. So imo it should be increased considering that the activity has increased quite a bit since the old days when the 30/300 requirements were made (in mybb itself iirc).
Considering that this forum is a lot busier now than it was when we started off with myBB, a change to 50/500 wouldn't be all that bad.
Or better yet, WDZ should run a query to find the average posts per thread and views per thread stats and their standard deviation so he can find the numbers so that only the top 10~15% of threads would be marked as "hot"
That seems like a fair way to do it imo. And by fair I mean an accurate way
