It can also be caused by:
- Your saved log-in information is not updated
=> Wait until it gets updated
- Your browser's cache is full
=> Delete your browser cache
- You signed in with incorrect password

Note that you don't need to create a new account if you simply want to change your Windows Live ID Email.
Because creating a new account is also troublesome for your contacts as they all need to remove your old account and add your new account too.
So, first check if your account supports automatic migration to a new account:
http://account.live.com/ChangeId.aspx
In that case, you don't need to do anything at all; everything will be done automatically for you after a few days.

If you still proceed in creating a new account (and you have again access to your old account), make absolutely sure you also _remove_ all the contacts!
This is very important, so don't forget to do it. Otherwise your contacts wont be able to remove your old account in their Messenger lists.
