Deleting plugin files may not always be enough to remove all your plugins (some plugins can be installed some place else). I've added the Plugins preferences section in Messenger Plus! 3 for that exact reason: when you have a problem, you can disable each plugin individually or the whole plugin feature in the preferences.

Note to helpers: you should never tell peopel to delete files anymore, you should always tell them to disable plugins, restart Messenger and see if the problem is fixed.
