is this a common problem?! well, i was trying to establish an email (smtp) server on my computer... i downloaded a program for that service and registered to a domain on
www.noip.com, but im missing something!
well, first of all i have stopped the firewall because it seems to get me some trouble,, i might need some help with that later on.
my problem now is that i cannot recieve email (but i can send nonetheless). i have been able to use POP to retrieve my email from my ISP's email account, which shows that the domain name is correctly working.
i asked a friend of mine to help me test some stuff.... it appears that he had no problem connecting to port 80, and 110, and the correct message appears on his screen when he uses "telnet" to connect to those ports.... yet he cannot connect to the port 25 at all.
i have been able to send email from one computer on my home LAN to my account, but i cannot recieve mail from servers outside my LAN.
any help is greatly apreciated... i really wanna make it work...
