RE: we are unable to sign you in the net manager service, 0x81000370
:D:D:D:D

This is how i solved the problem:

A few deays ago i disabled my norton internet security in msconfig because i have a better firewall, but i still want to keep my NAV :)

So i enabled it again, and msn works again... Easy as that!

So it seems that when you disable NIS it kinde blocks allll :(

Sounds like ur firewall is blocking access, go into ur firewall and tell it to allow MSN messenger to access the net.

Internet explorer is always installed with windows, if u deleted it u can get it here:

Somewhere in ur firewall (not AV) should be a applicationslist...see if its inthere and if u can change its accesstatus (maybe an option with rightclickin on the program in that list). If no option to alter accessrules...delete it from the applicationslist...then next time u start up messenger the firewall should ask u wether u want it to allow acces or not.

I don't have Norton's Internet Security, but if you realy can't find anything the last the you can do is completely uninstall and remove Norton Internet Security... Reboot... and install it again. Now when you start MSN Messenger, NIS should present you a question wether you want to allow MSN Messenger to access the net or not...

And if all that doesn't work, then try point 7B (this is the opposite of unchecking "Check for server certificate revocation" and thus an alternative method involving your internet security in internet settings):

7B. If you don't want to uncheck "Check for server certificate revocation". Then you should add messenger.hotmail.com and loginnet.passport.com to your "Trusted Sites" in the Security tab in your Internet Options. Make sure the checkbox for "Require Server Verification" is cleared.

More can be found here.
For detailed instructions see that site...

I don't use norton either..never got it to work right so i chose another firewall etc. i'm assumin in every firewall there is about the same (i had two diff ones, in both there was applicationslist somewhere)...sorry i can't be of more help.

And yup, uninstalling and installing is the way around it if u can't find where the applicationslist is.
