maybe the url could be hidden real deep in the msgplus documentation, so -happy newbies have no hope of finding it
mods/admins/whateva would still have to moderate the membeship though.  Maybe a user rating limit?  I know people could rate themselves but its an extra element to stop flooding mods with membership requests

Keeping the URl a secret wouldn't be a problem, cos users would have to be 'allowed' in there, so only their specific usernames can get in

Well if you can't trust the mods who can you trust

I'm still quite keen on the idea and ensuring it's publically readable is a really good idea.  That way people like myself can read the intelligent discussion coz I wouldnt get in anyways
