wrong, he could just add www. to the beginning of it. or he could visit a different top level domain. the following would need to be added to the file:

127.0.0.1 www.ebay.co.uk
127.0.0.1 ebay.com
127.0.0.1 www.ebay.com
127.0.0.1 ebay.it
