O.P. eBay - would you trust someone in a message not a bid?
i am selling my old mobile phone on ebay and i had a message of someone offering me £20 more than id expect it to go for. i would like to take the offer but i dont want to be screwed out of money or my phone
do you think its safe?
what would you do?
what do you think i should do?

Its actually not safe if you do 'off auction' type sales. Basically you're not covered if he doesnt pay etc plus singapore postage is very high. Oh infact! when i sold mine i got message from people in Africa asking will they sell it for me, i think they were fraud type so i just didnt.

Well if all seems okay, and you get the money before hand, and no more offers, then go for it

plus ebay always says to finish the transaction throug them.
is just not safe...only if u get the money first then u can rip him off
