Hello,
Microsoft has been releasing some exciting news the past few days about Windows Live Messenger so I thought it was my turn to announce something
. Since its launch, Messenger Plus! Live has already been downloaded 2 million times and what makes this number ever more exciting is the fact that auto-update has not been enabled yet and that the old msgplus.net site still exists as is, without automatic redirection.
So what am I waiting for to go full steam? the answer is 4.01. This update will solve many of the problems some of you have encountered since the release and will bring back some popular features such as the Quick Icons panel (brand new of course). Once this is done, the old site will be closed and every user who is running Windows Live Messenger will be updated to Messenger Plus! Live. This update will also be compatible with the new Yahoo Messenger interoperability feature of Messenger
.
On another subject, I have to say that I’m amazed to see how popular the scripting interface is becoming in such a short amount of time. In not even 3 weeks, almost 70 scripts have already been posted to the script’s database… this is about the same as the amount of plugins that have been submitted over a period 2 years for the old system! a ton of feature is being added to Messenger thanks to all these developers and I’ll make sure to keep on improving the interface to allow more and more possibilities. If you haven’t checked out the database yet, don’t wait another minute and do so now!
See you this weekend for the update
.
