Whenever I open a PDF file with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro the task "FNPLicensingService.exe" (Flexnet Service) starts running in the background. When I close Aodbe Acrobat it stops after a while, but soemtimes it stays forever. I tried disabling the service from within Administrative Tools/Services but it keeps popping up anyway. Is there a way to terminate this service forever?
fnplicensingservice.exe is a Activation Licensing Service from Macrovision Europe Ltd. belonging to FLEXnet Publisher. This is not a critical component, so yes, you can remove it using WinTasks.

Isn't Wintasks like Windows Task Manager? I mean, that it will allow you to stop the running process but not uninstall it from the system permanently? In the latter case, how do you do it? Thanks.

No, WinTasks is a different program.
Search Google for it (it's not free however)
