my condolence Patchou, it is really a shame that all of this has happened. I think you should have blamed the Canadian Post and tell them that they should not have returned it, rather they should have sent it to the recipient.
well, the sad irony was clear from the moment you just requested a new faceplate without adding the word "black" ("noire" if you prefer) whenever you could have.
(Not that I'm saying Microsoft are not guilty, but a reminder helps)
And for all those who says that not having a black faceplate is nothing, well, it is as if a person buys a Jaguar and receives a Hyundai Gets. It's degrading. The black color is the symbol of the Xbox Elite, it states that this machine is above all the other Xboxes, it is the very elite nature of the Xbox Elite. And thus, yes, it matters.
Had a fanboy of the Xbox 360 gotten a different colored faceplate, heads would have rolled!

It's somewhat sad that there will not be an Xbox in the following contests, even though the support is horrible, it is still a good product by itself. Just think what would happen if all of Microsoft's Windows costumers would have used their tech support for it
