RE: New PC..Thoughts...
i have a couple of questions/suggestions:
isnt the hard drive a little small?
DDR1 ram is a little old, for 60 dollars you can get 2gb DDR2 i recommend that
How much is the graphics card? do you need 512mb card? will DDR3 graphics card work with your motherboard/processor/ram??
You have the intellect comparable to that of a rock. Be proud.

Of course it is but he can easily buy a bigger hdd later on. quote: Originally posted by rm rulz

He will need DDR2 as I have already stated. $60 is for cheap generic ram. I would always pay a little extra for quality chips. ie micron. quote: Originally posted by rm rulz

512mb of ram on a gfx card is plenty and if he plans on getting a bigger monitor later on then 512mb of ram will be needed to run games at higher resolutions alot more efficiently. Yes this gfx card will work with his mobo.

I currently have a monitor that runs a resolution of 1280x1024 with no problems [21 or 22" not quite sure], i dont think i will go any bigger than that monitor wise lol, i will buy some new ram as suggested and have changed my mind and am getting the Radeon that was suggested, and i would do a build myself, but im not to confident with putting a pc together. Personally i also feel that the HDD is fine, as im currently using a tiny 60GB HDD and its 90% full, im sure i can handle a 160GB HDD pretty well.

RE: New PC..Thoughts...
You could save a little bit of money. See if there is a similar motherboard that has an integrated network adaptor ($10 - $30 saved). Also, look out for hard disks on special/clearance at the same and other computer shops ($5 - $50 saved).
One concern i have with that system is the PSU. Intech is a brand I've never heard of, and a price search shows that it's not widely available, but is very cheap ($50). You might want to choose a different case/PSU or buy the same case but also buy a better PSU.
