I would never have copyrighted it under normal circumstances, however, the success of Plus! required me to take some preventive measures (you can't imagine some of the emails I received so far). And in fact, I learnt something interesting when I applied for the US Trademark: you are allowed to trademark a nickname if you've used it for more than 3 years and you're sufficiently sure that the name is quite unique .
