Are you sure you have a DVD-burner?

And for burning software Nero is really good, it's not free... but it's worth it

Yeah everythings good and nero is working it now so meh

although not too happy about this

Complete file size : 4556 MB
Disc Size : 4483 MB and all the discs i have are like this

DVD's should be 4.7GB shouldn't they?

so now i'm RAR-ing them and hope that will cut it down enough

Anyway other than that I'm not bothered about anything else now

DVD-R creators are weird, believe me! :S

Normally, 1 GB = 1024 MB
But, DVD-R creators round it up to 1000 MB, what is very confusing!
So, the size isn't 4.7 GB but around 4.4 GB.

And I dont think DVD players knows what RAR is... :dodgy:

merrr RARing it only got it down by 46MB :dodgy:

The message now is

Data to be written : 4507
Space on the Disc : 4482

it really is just taking the piece of cake.......

that was RAR on BEST compression anyone know how to get it down those last few MB's?

no i don't want to go RAR-ing every file then RAR them as a big file, and i don't think it would get it down enough anyway :(

you could try compressiong them in the 7z/7-zip format, it may make a big difference. Don't try compressing compressed files, contrary to popular belief if you zip a file enough times, you won't eventually get it to 1 byte :)

Nero also supports overburning, some people claim that they can get up to 50mb extra, but that would depend on the brand of DVD you are burning to and possibly the drive you have too.
