i doesnt ask me to enter a password when i try to open it on XP, and i dont hav an ME pass anyway

thats what he means, set a pass for it so u can access it

You need to have a user with the exact same name and password on BOTH computers, and you need to turn off Simple File Sharing in Folder Options > View.

Done, and STILL doesnt work

EDIT : My pc doesnt have that simple file sharing option, maybe its cos ive got home edition

then enable the guest account on windows xp, and create an account named Guest with no password on windows ME

I've this same problem wich has no answer (http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=46717). Is this the only way? setting up the same user/pass on the other computers? Because I organize lan parties and it would be pretty tired/annoying setting up all of them

I've tried everything! I have 2 networks adapters, and IPX protocol also installed. I put TCP/IP as my default protocol also.

Say if im logged in on Owner on XP and Guest on me, will it work, or do i need to be logged in on guest on xp
