O.P. Windows Vista expectations
What do you expect from windows Vista?

I think all those nice 3D effects will kinda force the computer sellers to make their computers come with a minimum nice graphics card which will kinda make them lower the prices of them.
Even being low end graphics card this will give the component the importance it never had before, people will now care about a graphics card, like one of the main components.

Off course Vista will come with a non 3D interface version but i highly doubt they will give the idea of buying a limited computer to the customers.

Also i expect Vista to come with a very nice GUI as it never did before.

In Microsoft Office they use a year number to identify the product to the public, but have their own counter, MS Office 2003 was number 11, and XP was 10, and so on. Maybe it's a codename too and the'll give another name to it later.

Dont go too much offtopic the main topic of this topic is the question in bold.

However:

Try Windows Max:

http://www.microsoft.com/max/

If you dont have an English OS try this workaround:

1. Open Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\Language
3. Change the values of the keys "Default" and "InstallLanguage" to 0409
4. Reboot
5. Install Microsoft MAX
6. Undo the modifications you did in step 3
7. Reboot

hmm i believe those GUI's will change though, the icons look way too big (nice though) and clutter the other controls. They'll probably come out with nice transculent 3D images etc, but i doubt those massive icons will stay :P
Segosa is newb.
