.. And yeah, menu needs improving a little, but it's a great design.

its not supposed to be unrecognisable, it still preforms the same function just with a different look

All the designs are nice. However maybe you should try something unqiue, the box sizes all seem to be the same as the old. Experiment to see what cool effects you come up with

Then we shall vote for a winner. I can set up a small script to help contribute if you want, I cant be bovered to open Fireworks, too much stuff running

Tbh eljay's first attempt was really good. I dont have the time to sit trhough 6 pages of pics so im guessing eljay must have improved his pics somewhere. If there is someone who has done a good job like trax () then tell me.
Btw, hypedupmonkey, your's pretty much feels like 3.xx with a bit of shading and image changing. The icons are good but its so easily recognisable as the same old interface

Yeah, I didn't want to change it much so It wasn't so different and troublesome.
Users are used to the previous interface, so why ruin it? Its simple, its easy...Just jazz it up with new icons and images to match WLM and its a masterpiece. If I was to make something unique and original, I could bet you everything I own it wouldn't be as simple and easy to use as the 3.xx interface.
Also, someone said it had to be simple (which I think it is) yet blend with the Windows Live Messenger. I've tried to do that with the borders and such; Just edited the Windows Logo to the Plus! Butterfuly (In the top right corner) to help distinguish it. If it was to change colour to match the borders of WLM, the borders would blend seemlessly (or I think it would atleast.)
