3 people go to a hotel, and pay £30 for a room. They split the bill equally, so each pays £10. An hour later, the manager goes to their room, and says that there is a discount on that room tonight because of a faulty lightbulb. They only have to pay £25. Each of the customers take £1 back, and they let the manager keep the other £2.
Now, they paid £9 each, and 9x3=27. The manager got £2, so that makes £29. Where's the other pound gone?
