Registering a domain on dreamhost will be just the 'name' or would i have also some space for website hosting?

If you buy a domain you get hosting with it the least expensive is $10 a month and you get
20GB disk.

It depends on the plan you get
you can get the domain only
or domain + hosting
like get the domain[buy it] and some free hosting from someone on the forums for free :P

Registering the domain would just mean that the domain name is yours now. There's no hosting with it, so you can use it however you like. If you sign up for Dreamhost web hosting, you get one free domain registration anyway.
