when i hit the power button on my laptop the first thing that pops up is a black screen saying that there is a predicted failure on my hard disk 2 ST9120821AS-(S1). It also tells me to back up my files and to replace the drive....ive only had the computer for one month and have nothing on it i hardly use it so my question is, why is the hard disk failing so soon? one of the things i noticed it affected is my msn messenger. My messenger does not respond or it takes a looong time for it to log on but everything else is working okay. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on what to do. I will appreciate any help..........thank you.
If you've only had the laptop for a month, then I'd take it back to wherever you bought it and either get a refund/replacement or get it fixed, they should do it for free, as it would've came with a warranty.
Also, check in the book you got with it, there may be a technical support/warranty phone number that you can ring for more professional help.
