O.P. New music system!!
Hey guys,
I got a new dolby surround sound system on saturday. I've bought it too school with me and everyone wants to play songs on it.
Is there software that will allow people to access my laptop from theirs using itunes or something and play it through my laptop?
Cheers,
Nathan

RE: New music system!!
Assuming you are on the school's network running windows, why not use the windows shared folder?
run the windows network setup wizard and turn on file and print sharing. The computer name will become the server name. After that, go to the properites dialog of the root folder that contains your music (i.e. 'My Music'?)
On the Sharing tab, check 'Share this folder on the network', put in a share name, and you're done.
To access the folder, in explorer type in code: \\ComputerName\ShareName\
oops, you want people to play music on your laptop...
I dunno if it can work across another computer, but party mode for WMP (comes with Microsoft Plus) sorta does what you want

You could run TightVNC to allow people to remotely control your PC, but obviously that has other problems.
As far as I'm aware there are no applications for iTunes to allow people to remotely control your music.

Quite.
Actually, there is this: http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=9156
It allows remote controlling of your library through a web address, which people on your network can use, then all you need is a way of adding music remotely.

RE: New music system!!
get an audio cable going from their audio out jack into your audio in jack?
although you could only do one at a time unless you used a splitter
