Make sure you back up your custom content as due to a bug it will/might dissapear when you install 8.1

You can do this with MSN BackUp V1.2.1.

Note that the public build of 8.1 that was just released does not kill your smilies, and any smilies that were "removed" with installation of the last build are restored. (They were never deleted, just not loaded properly

)
