i got problem like this,i converted my avi file to dvd with convert x to dvd.And i added subtitles.But when i insert dvd to dvdplayer i can watch the movie,also  i can see added subtitles on the menu.but i cant put'em on screen while watching :S

Okay it finnished with a few errors in the middle of encoding, and now i just have to burn the mpg file.. , should windows dvd maker work?
