O.P. Text editor color schemes
I'm looking for a new color scheme for coding, something that's easy on the eyes. I found this page, which has lots of cool ideas...

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~maverick/VimColorSchemeTest/index-c.html

What do you guys prefer? :P My theme for the last 6 years has been similar to this. The white background has to go, because sometimes it feels like I'm staring at a lightbulb... :/

:dodgy: Everyone knows that's the best time for serious coding. Nice and dark, quiet, no people awake to distract you, etc... =p

Sometimes, it's surprising how much difference turning the brightness down makes. I like the default gedit colours, though I use emacs. White background, black text [AT LEAST 14 pt- it makes a real difference, try it! If you've got the screen real estate, go 18pt!], green types, blue comments, maroon reserved words, etc. If anything stands out to me to make a difference, it would be changing that light blue to something else.
was put impeccably into words at DebianDay for me last Saturday, by Knut Yrvin of Trolltech - adults try something once, fail, and then are like "ffs this doesn't work". Children try, fail, and then try again, and succeed - maybe on the second, or even fifth retry. But the thing is that they keep at it and overcome the problems in the end.
