It can add it again the same way it got it the first time.... by downloading it from the server when you sign in ^o) If you tell it to forget you, it does

But DP's are not stored on the server, though they are stored now but you can't get them directly from the server, you still retrive them from directly contacts when they are online.

Thanks for your replys.

Yeah, the DPs are retrieved directly from the contacts. That's how I get their IPs.

But I wonder whether your "MessengerCache" folder still exists with WLM 9.0?

Can it be because that option is already unticked?
If that option is unticked it means that it SHOULD STORE all the data on the local computer, not the other way around.
So, since he has that option unticked, he SHOULD be able to find the cache folder

 x2

Thank you CookieRevised, I didn't think thoroughly while posting that message. You are right  x3

I think they should still exist. But wlm 9.0 may have defined its cache folders as "Protected operating system folders" like Internet Explorer 7 defines its Temporary Internet Files like that (I used to go that folder by browsing folders with Windows Explorer but after IE7 I had to enable "Show protected operating system folders" option from Folder Options to access it, though I am not sure about this). Can you try enabling that option (Tools>Folder Options for XP) before looking for Cache folder?
