from the extracted files, there are definitions and styles (same as html and css)
the styles files (I even provided the file names) are the one's you need to edit, to get the buttons replaced

That's kinda the whole deal, modifying the resources 
I suggest extracting them all and whenever you make a skin, copy the files you want/need
I may create a blank skin template soon

But you confused me with the 919 style file,why you say edit just the first and leave the other two non-edited , do not copy all ,and why do you add files like 59012 when we've only added files from 59000 - 59012 ?? Pls help me fast |

919 is a funny one, if you edit all the instances messenger decides that you want maximize buttons in dodgy places when there shouldn't be any at all (eg MSN Today, welcome to messenger) the way I describe somehow works correctly as it seems to load the first instance of each button instead of what is there per window style inside the style file
