Second, just click their names, press F2 and type a nickname in. It could be their email or you could just type their display name again and it'll never change. You have to do this for every contact but it works perfectly.

Mess Patch is just an add-on for Messenger so it has nothing to do with making it work. You can still view contacts by E-mail in version 8.5. If you want to install 8.5 version, run ZapMessenger to completely remove Windows Live Messenger and then install Windows Live Messenger 8.5 from here. If you still want to get those patches you were talking about, you can get them from here.

P.S Could you please get rid of the CAPS?

I RAN ZAP AND DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED MSN 8.5 AND THEN IT RAN BY ITSELF AND I EXITED OUT AND RAN THE MESS.BE PATCH WHICH WAS THE RIGHT VERSION 8.5.1302 BUT WHEN I OPENED MSN THE AD WAS STILL THERE SO I GUESS FOR SOME STRANGE REASON IT DIDNT WORK BUT I WENT TO SHOW MENU CONTACTS VIEW CONTACTS BY EMAIL ADDRESS AND IT WORKED PERFECT AND I CAN SEE EVERYONE BY EMAIL AGAIN! THANK YOU SO MUCH IM IN YOUR DEBT AND ILL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU EXCEPT TURN OFF CAPS LOCK BECAUSE IM STUCK THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Dont mention it . If you wanted those patches just for hiding the ads, you can still use A-patch to get rid of all the ads.
