I like the new Windows Live Mail, but I cannot stand the new Windows Live Messenger and will not be upgrading.

I almost immediately avoided the issue of downgrading and performed a System Restore.

What issue was there? I downgraded fine, all I had to do was restart the computer.

The only issue I have is I have lost all the default sounds.

You shouldn't be using this as your regular Messenger in the first place :p. Just way too early build and too much non-finished features and bugs for that. I only installed it on a VM. But it's not that different from 2009 TBH.

The header is too high, and the font for the category labels too big. But if that doesn't change by the final it is fixable in skins. Same for emoticons.

hi after i install Live Essentials Wave 4 and uninstall change back to Live Essentials Wave 3 (14.0.8089.726) my friend was unable to send me file.. It say The invitation to start File Transfer could not be sent because - is using an older version of Windows Live Messenger.
can some one help me with that?

Try removing the entire Windows Live Essentials Beta first. Then install latest from http://download.live.com/
