Assuming this wasnt a prank, couldnt the character sayid (the one here) delete it cause he doesnt want negative thoughts about the merger here or people undermining his position just because his name was the same as the character from lost.

It is easier to say this now but tbh very few people had enough proof (found by themselves not others) that was conclusive in proving that this was a hoax. The earlier you got that proof, the funnier it seemed. Btw, patchou wasnt involved in this prank
