I'm not sure what type of work you do, but I assume it isn't working at WalMart or another low skilled job. A lot of people don't get healthcare because their employer doesn't provide it, and they can't afford healthcare because of the cost of being poor (i.e. paying for cheaper stuff that'll need to be replaced more often, and so cost more long term)
