I think Princess meant that she wishes the key combination could be choosable...  as I do, too.
I'm very happy that this feature is back, because  I've always loved it (and missed it) very much, but I find this shortcut "(" really irritating. I think it would be lovely if one could choose his/her own combination.

Well... CTRL + E and that's it.

It's not the same as plus! emoticon panel, because you cannot choose to see only your personal emoticons.

Yes, of course you can. That's the whole point. I'm doing it myself. The current emoticons panel only shows me my custom emoticons.

I would send you a shot but I'm kind of lazy right now to do it.

You should take a deep look into the P! preferences. It's there. You can replace the common Live Messenger's emoticons panel, and you can choose only to show your custom emoticons ONLY.

Ah, now I see what you mean. Well, it's ok, I was used to another key combination, I will have to get used to ctrl+E. Not a big problem.
I really would prefer to choose my own, but that's ok anyway.
