a problem is that if that was to happen, it would increase sign-in time, because it would have to download all the extra contacts.

I think a nice feature would be really good to have, but maybe it's not possible, I don't know, but maybe someone would be able to say whether it is or not???

File transfers normally stay in the chat window, would it be possible to move the progress indicator to the space that appears to the right of the chat area to inbetween the two display pictures?

I like that idea Jay Pee and i'm tired of making the conversation thing soo confusing, by having it on the side it would be nice to see how the progress is going!

i doubt that Plus! would be able to do that. but Microsoft sure could in thenext version of messenger

i would very much like an expansion of the contact list since erasing ppl from my contact list is getting more and more difficult lately.
also that non-scrolling option for downloads seems to look quite cool!

about the contact list limit, i think the best option is having two (or more) diferent accounts and use the polygamy patch.

about the progress indicator, it's a very good idea: you could see the progress of all your transfers without searching then in the convo. However I don't know if that's easy to implement.

About the colors in names, use the /nick command with the Ctrl + K shotcut.

I believe that there was a progress bar in windows messenger. At the bottom where it said if the contact was typing or not. I thought this feature would be in MSN messenger, but obviously not!!

Well in MSN Messenger you get a better progress bar then in Windows Messenger imho.

It is a good status bar in MSN messenger. I'm jus sayin at least there was one in Windows messenger.

about that status bar...it's definately better in MSN messenger 6, it was disturbing having it down there so you wouldn't know wheter your friend was typing or not, also you couldnt know how many bytes were left, but on the other hand it had the advantage of not having to scroll in order to find it!!! a status bar halfway between both would be perfez..in all that space that's of no use right know under your contact's image
