O.P. Sad  Help: Hard drive mp3 player
i have a ihp100. it has a ten gb hard drive but when i connect it to my computer via USB it doesnt come up as new drive in my computer but it knows tis connected because it tells me a removable storage device has been connected. This means i cant drag and drop files onto it. Need help badly, any would be great please.

Do you use Windows XP? I'll assume that ;)

Well, maybe you need to install some drivers. They should have been given to you when you bought it.

tried it all
also i had an ipod and had the same problem
i think this is a problem at the base level with my xp does anyone know about the regestry or how to make a device a drive?

I don't think that can be done with the registry... btw, do you have the service pack 1 (SP1) and all the updates of XP?

I've told that about sp1 because i think windows xp without sp1 has some problems when plugging cameras, mp3 players and so...

I'm saying all what i know, really :) I haven't more ideas... :P did you tried to connect it to other computer with xp? (it may sound also a noob question, sorry, but what i want to know is: Is the problem with your Windows, with Windows, with your player or with that model of player?)

i connected it to a 98 computer and it works great thats why i still have it but i want to fix it on my xp PC as thats my main one obviously. Im pretty sure its a problem with just my XP. i need someone to tell me how to fix windows so that it adds drive for removable storage devices. Do you know anyone who knows how to do this?

Windows XP is supposed to add the drive automaticaly. My windows XP adds a new drive when i connect a usb pen drive and I didn't installed any driver...
