O.P. "Memory Available" - How Can I Get More?
right... i use this program called Windows Washer to clean up loads of unneeded crap...

its splash screen sort of thing tells me my profile, windows type, build and 'memory available'

it tells me i have 77.9mb of 267.9mb free memory...

is this RAM? i've been thinking of buying some more...

if it is would i just slot it into the motherboard and the computer does the rest? or would i have to set it up some how with the bios or windows...

if it is ram can you just tell me what problems i may come across (with my pc.. if a problem is a possibility... it WILL happen :dodgy:) when inserting more/upgrading

Thanks

EDIT: i'm thinking of buying this: >Click Here<

how do i know which one to buy? iirc not all ram card things are compatible with certain motherboards or other ram... oh i don't know anything about this:P

help:'( lol

Your motherboard manual will state your ram specifications.

what information would i need?

all i found that i know i'd need is DDR ram...

EDIT:

Manuel: -

before installing the memory modules please comply with the following conditions:
-make sure the memory used is supported by the motherboard. it is recommended that memory of similar capacity, specifications and brand be used
-power off
-memory modules design allows only to be installed one way round bla bla..

the motherboard supports DD memory modules wherby the BIOS will automatically detect memory capacity and specifications. memory modules are design so can be insert one direction... the memory capacity used can differ with each slot

also it has pictures and mentions DIMM memory modules (what the hell??? :|) and again about it only fitting in one way round.. and closing the plastic clips to lock it in

Thanks

You need to know the speed of the RAM you already have, you can check this with a program like Everest

If you look under SPD it gives info about the module you currently have. If you buy one with the same speed at least you know it will work. It may not be the optimal solution, but it's a quick and failsafe one. :)

Edit: Click on the Motherboard tab, under Memory Bus Properties it reads effective clock. This is the speed you're looking for.

I don't know where you shop, but this site looks good.
On the left you can see the navigation panel - under Ram Type you want DDR SDRAM and for Bus Speed you want 333MHZ. Take a look at the products left and you'll find most of them are the same.
