The second one IS pixelated.. unless the original image is blurry :p.

The only not blurry image there is the second, the one that got pixelated...

Obviously the second one got pixelated but only in the windows logo part, because of the curvy shape. I agree with blessedguy, it's better to use images with straight patterns, like vertical or horizontal lines. Diagonal ones might still get a bit pixelated, though less noticeable.

I found the solution ...

You have to increase the Pixels/inch for your image.
Setting at 300/inch should work great. The higher it is, the more detail, but file size would increases significantly.

But I don't really know the dimension to use though.

Just found out that it only helps marginally when small...   it still pixelates when enlarge to full size.

Maybe MSN live messenger itself cannot support such detailed images?
