You can already use it behind a NAT if you can open the port for incoming connections. You just have to select the option "detect external IP address automatically" so the plugin gets your correct IP.

Detect ip address correctly doesn't work for me, the other user can't see stuff i send to them, but i can accept and download stuff from other people

I really like the concept, but I tried it with one of my contacts but it didn't go any faster then 5 kbps (my netlimiter tells me) while I have a max upload of around 40 kbps upload (416 KBit) (and I can upload in dc++ with around 40 kbps).

System:
Win XP - all updates
Latest Msgplus
I have no pc firewall, I do have a router but I opened a port
I used the third function and entered my own external ip
I left the packet size on the default 1024.

Is there a way to get my max upload using File Transfer Plus?

Maybe it's a nice feature to let the plugin automaticly choose the right packed size, this way also people who don't know what it is, can use the full amount.

It uses CRC32 checksum since MD4/MD5 and SHA-1 are too expensive for the processor.

Have you opened the port 8030 for incoming TCP connections? If you can't open it, then you'll have to wait for 1.1
I'll research some compression methods for file transferring, thanks for the tip.

First, go to this website:
www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php
And see the indicated MSS number. Use it as the packet size, so the plugin will use your upload optimally.

I haven't found a way to detect it yet, so currently I suggest to use the SpeedGuide.net's analyzer. But I'll try to find it out

Can't wait till 1.1 because I don't know how to open the ports on my router, when do you think it's ready?

Hi RicarDog, thanks for at wonderful file transfer program! It has definitely increased my transfer speeds drastically...

It does however still lack a few things before you can call it perfect:

1) The ability to set a transfer speed limit on each individual transfer
2) A pause function
Edit: Just thougt of another thing: Auto-accept!
